Club Officers
David Freeze – President
David has over 96,000 running miles and 24 marathons. He won the Tar Heel Tour Masters Championship four times. David has bicycled solo in all 50 states and Canada. He has ridden cross country two times, from Maine to Key West and to Alaska. David has written nine books about his cycling and running adventures. He is a member of the Salisbury Rowan Sports Hall of Fame. He has two daughters, Ashley and Amber and one granddaughter, Booper. David enjoys farming, volunteering, reading and sports of just about any kind.
Steve Clark – Vice President
Steve Clark has been a member of Salisbury Rowan Runners since he took over the Greenway 5k Race 24 years ago. He works for the City of Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department. He is married to Laura Zimmerman-Clark and they have 2 sons – Blake and Bennett. Steve enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports with his sons, exercising, traveling and on occasion playing golf. One of his running highlights is doing the Disney Marathon in 2011 when it was 28 degrees at the start of the race. That race is when he discovered what a banana was and that during the marathon it tasted like a steak!!
Luanne Fesperman – Treasurer
Luann has enjoyed running for years, starting in Junior High School where she participated in track and other sports. She and her husband, Gary graduated from East Rowan High School and Appalachian State University. They have two children and four grandchildren. In her free time, Luann enjoys time with family, traveling, kayaking, hiking, and golf. As for work, Luann owns and operates the Trophy House of Salisbury.
Connie Hoffner – Secretary
Connie lives on an organic farm in Western Rowan County. She is most proud of her family including her patient spouse, 2 grown children and their spouses and her 3 fabulous and fun grandchildren- Owen, Ansley and Colt. Connie is a registered nurse whose career centered around maternal-child and women’s health. She is currently at Well of Mercy, a beautiful retreat center, where she is Program Director and Healing Touch Practitioner. Connie enjoys many ventures including wellness opportunities with walking, running, yoga, hiking and other types of fitness and she loves to grow flowers. She has participated in a number of 5ks, 8ks and a couple of marathons. She is glad that SRR has a motto of ‘a place for any pace”.
Tisha Corriher – Membership Coordinator
Tisha started running after high school and eventually ran 2 Half Marathons and numerous 5Ks. She and her husband have 2 sons and 5 grandsons. She enjoys volunteering, watching their grandsons play sports, hiking, working on the farm and reading.
Jasen Weber – Social Media Coordinator
Jasen has always been a pretty active person, but didn’t start running until January 2021. He started running on trails, and ran his first 5k with SRR at a Prediction run at Salisbury City Park. Since then, he has fallen in love with running longer and longer distances. His longest race so far was 51 miles at James River State Park in Virginia, finishing in just under 12 hours. He doesn’t plan on stopping there! Having worked in food service for most of his life. Jasen likes to spend his free time running around in the woods and/or mountains, mediating, and any activity involving a Frisbee. He lives with his 2 dogs, Sam and King. They love to travel and explore together!
Rebecca Parker-Tortorell – Member at Large
Rebecca started running as a freshman at West Rowan High School, eventually becoming County and Conference Runner of the Year for multiple years. Her senior year she placed 30th in the 3A State Meet and was 9th in the region. She went on to run Cross Country and Track at Georgia Southern University (and majored in Journalism) where she set records in the 6k (cross country), 3K steeplechase (outdoor track), and 3K (indoor track). She still runs today in events from the 5K to the half marathon, and will also try a sprint triathlon this year. In her free time, you can find her and her husband (Mike) at her sister’s house spending time with her nieces and nephew, or running, swimming, or biking.
Amanda Lewis – Technology Coordinator
Amanda began running in 2016 and considers herself a non-competitive runner. A native of Ellenboro, NC, she moved to Rowan County after graduating from UNC-Charlotte. She and her husband Chad have two kids, Clayton and Gracie, and three grand-dogs! In her spare time, Amanda enjoys volunteering, reading, photography, baking / cake decorating, and watching gymnastics and disc golf. You can usually find her at the finish line of local races as she currently handles race results and online posting for Salisbury Rowan Runners as well as RunSignUp and Salisbury Rowan Runner’s website.

All proceeds from this event will go towards helping to fund free colonoscopies to those in need within Rowan County.

After the 5K run/walk, there will be a block party held at Rowan Diagnostic Clinic (611 Mocksville Avenue). Race participants will receive their awards, shirts, and a food truck voucher AT the block party.
Race Location: Catawba College softball field - 2135 North Park Drive, Salisbury, NC 28144
Course: The Greenway - starts and ends at the bridge near the softball field.
