- SRR celebrated the Olympic Torch Run with a torch (or flashlight) run of their own, The Night Light Flight 5K run/walk held on Sunday, June 23, 1996, 8 PM at China Grove Middle School. Race director was Dick Franklin.

We are pleased to announce that this year's race will include anyone from the community (not associated with Girls on the Run) to be a part of our race! There are 100 community runner/walker spots available, so sign up fast before they are gone. We are excited to integrate the community with our Girls on the Run 5K. All community runners will receive a GOTR 5k Tshirt and GOTR medal with registration. There will be no overall or age group awards, but community runners will be officially timed.
