David welcomed all board members, Steve Clark. George Livengood, Lynn Furr, Morgan Huffman, Luann Fesperman, Amanda Lewis and Teresa Patterson Shaw at 5:46pm.

Treasurer’s report—Luann reported that the club has current assets of $27,113.01. September expenses were $3684.04 and income was $1360.

Membership—Lynn reported that the club has 180 members and 10 of those are not current.

Upcoming races—David reported on the following races.

     St. Matthews 5K—Saturday, October 24^. This race has had some issues in the last few years, and the race director has promised to correct them. Excellent scenery.

     Spooky Spring 5K—Sunday, October 25     Spooky is one of our oldest and best managed races. SRR’s Alex Bruce is race director.

     Clean Water 5K—Saturday, November 14^. SRR’s Pam Roseman is race director, and the hushpuppy race is always a good one.

     GOTR—Salisbury Community Park November 21^. This is a long-standing partner event and could host as many as 600-700 participants.

     Butterball 5K—November 26. SRR’s Rayna Gardner directs this race and should have over 400 runners.

      Both the Patterson and Cleveland races will not happen.

Connie Hoffner has resigned as SRR board secretary.

Amanda/Teresa changes. Amanda is leaving the board for the time being but will continue with website and race duties. Teresa will assume some of the Runsignup duties.  

Middle school cross country—SRR timed all the middle school cross country events in Rowan while hosting once at Salisbury Academy, twice at China Grove Elementary and four times at East Rowan Y for Erwin Middle School.

2027 Novant sponsorship—David reported that the Novant sponsorship application is complete and will be awarded after January 1^st.

2027 RRCA membership—Lynn Furr will have SRR membership current by households and David will submit the 2027 membership application for RRCA membership and club insurance at that time.

RHM Walk Club/RHM leadership—The walk club has not been well attendied this fall but several interesting clients are currently participating. We just completed week 6 of 8 today. The new RHM director has received high marks from management personnel.

BRC , now and in the spring—The current class will have week 7 tomorrow night and will graduate one week from tomorrow at Overton school after completing the 5K run. Spring classes will again be on Tuesdays.

SRR Annual Meeting date—The board decided that the annual meeting date will be on Feb. 20 and Winter Flight will be on February 21^st. Details will be worked out for both soon.

Winter Flight sponsorship, Dick’s and more, time to get moving—Luann will prepare a list of all sponsors received last year and David will complete the new sponsorship agreement. Both will be shared with all board members. Teresa will contact Dick’s and a packet pickup will be held there on Feb. 20^th from 2-4pm.

Winter Flight new ideas—Luann will price a large shipment of participation medals and Lynn will explore a 3 or 4 item raffle.

New board meeting format—A new agenda format will be used beginning in January 2027. All board members will have an agenda slot and will report on their duties and responsibilities.
