Welcome—David Freeze called the meeting to order and welcomed members at 5:45p.m.

Board Members present – David Freeze, Steve Clark, Luann Fesperman, Amanda Lewis, Teresa Shaw, Lynn Furr, Morgan Huffman, Connie Hoffner.

Treasurer’s Report— Luann Fesperman reported the total in account is $18,467.06 as of the end of March.  Expenses were $33,879.07 and the income was $18,975.00.

Membership Report—Lynn Furr reported that there are 171 current members with 4 members that need to renew.

Upcoming Races—

West Rowan Bible Teachers-April 18 at West Rowan Elementary at 9:00 a.m.  Line up for workers is as follows: David Freeze-clocks, Steve Clark-cards, Pam and Sam Allred-chutes, Morgan Huffman-double chute; Amanda Lewis, Lynn Furr, Tisha Corriher-Table.  David encouraged workers to be there by 7:30a.m.  SRR workers will wear vests.  

Girls on The Run 5K at Salisbury Community Park-May 2 at 10 a.m.

China Grove Main Street Challenge in China Grove-May 8 at 8:00 p.m.   David Freeze to be official starter.  At present, no other workers from Salisbury Rowan Runners have been requested. 

Ed Dupree 5K at East Rowan-May 16 at 8:30 a.m.  

Chillin’ to the Bare Bones 5K at Overton at 8:30 a.m.-May 23.  This is a Salisbury Rowan Runners sponsored race.  David Freeze requested all board members to attend.  Ice cream will be served at the end of the race.  Lynn Furr will contact the vendor concerning the ice cream.  Steve Clark has secured use of school grounds at Overton.  Teresa Shaw reported that Dick’s Sporting Goods has donated $160 in gift cards and coupons to be given out.

Teens With a Mission 5K to be held at Overton Elementary School and Greenway-May 1 at 7:30 p.m. SRR is not involved.

Special Olympics-David Freeze reported that both events went well and thinks that this is one of the best club activities.

Spring Beginning Running Class -David Freeze reported that class has been successful.  Megan McIntyre and Melissa Burke have been assisting with class. 

Catawba Color Run to be held at Catawba College-April 21st.  This event is held free without fee.  David and Steve are providing the banner and finish line.   The Beginning Running Class voted not to attend this year. 

Spring Rowan Helping Ministries Walk Club-David Freeze reported that classes are going well with a group of consistent attendees.  The participants that have been attending regularly can participate in Bare Bones 5K on May 23. 

Novant 2026 Sponsorship Requirements-David Freeze reported that Mollie Ruff is the contact at Novant Health concerning the application.  She requested quarterly reports and acknowledgement of check receipt. 

Dragonboat-Steve Clark reported that the Dragonboat Race will be on August 22. Steve is coordinating the team. Salisbury Rowan Runners members who are most active can participate, and board members are to contact Steve if they would like to participate.  Suggestion was made to have pre-race practice.
